The Bluff cattle property passes in at $30m auction
The Bluff, a 31,400 hectare Queensland cattle breeding operation, was passed in at $30m after failing to meet reserve at auction.
The Bluff is located 32km east of Charters Towers. It went to auction on AuctionsPlus on Thursday.
Bidding opened at $20m. The property was passed in at $30m, meaning it did not sell.
The Webb family developed the property over 15 years. It runs an average of 2,460 breeding females and their followers.
The 31,400 hectares include 18,000 hectares of Goldfields country and 13,000 hectares of rangelands. About 8,800 hectares has been aerially seeded with legumes.
Another 200 hectares was deep ripped and sown to buffel grass and stylo mix, achieving 85 per cent fertility rates. The property has 37 paddocks connected by 68km of laneways and includes a 1,500 head capacity cattle yard complex.
