Gaza health chief's son killed in Israeli airstrike
Munir Al-Bursh, Gaza's health official, lost his son Basir in an airstrike near Jabalia, his second family death in Israeli strikes.
An Israeli airstrike near Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza killed Basir Al-Bursh, the son of Gaza's health ministry director-general. The Israeli military said it struck several militants on Saturday, including Basir.
Video obtained by Reuters shows his father carrying his body, wrapped in a blanket, as it was rushed to hospital. Munir Al-Bursh lost a daughter in an airstrike in December 2023 and was wounded in that same attack.
Two other Palestinians died in separate strikes on Saturday, in Shejaia and Gaza City. Palestinian health officials say more than 73,000 people have been killed in Gaza since Israel's offensive began in October 2023.
A US-brokered ceasefire agreed last year has delivered little progress, with more than 1,300 Palestinians, mostly civilians, killed since it took effect.
