Two Illawarra go-karters win NSW state titles in same weekend
Cooper House and Harry, close friends from the Illawarra, both won NSW go-karting state titles in Orange.
Two young racers from the Illawarra both won go-kart state titles in the same weekend. Cooper House, 12, won the 13-to-15 age group championship.
Cooper's friend Harry, 9, took the 10-to-12 group at the NSW titles in Orange. The two first met at Wollongong Kart Raceway in 2023.
Their families spent 40-plus weekends in 2025 travelling to races across the state. Cooper started go-karting at six after his dad, a former kart racer, took him to the track for fun.
Harry joined the sport later but has progressed quickly. Both now train under Troy Boldy, a three-time Australian karting champion and track owner who has coached multiple Supercars champions.
Boldy says the Illawarra has a long history of producing great drivers and believes Cooper and Harry are the next generation.
