Osborne storms back from 31 down but loses grand final by one goal
Osborne clawed back from 31 points down in the final quarter to lose the Hume grand final by just one goal.
In the Hume Football Netball League grand final on Saturday, Osborne looked finished when Zac Klemke kicked a running goal at the 12-minute mark of the final term, stretching Henty's lead to 31 points.
Osborne refused to quit. The Tigers rattled off four goals, with Connor Galvin scoring a crucial toe-poke goal with just 80 seconds left, cutting the margin to six points.
Henty held on. Osborne had won 14 straight games to reach the final and was chasing a fourth consecutive premiership.
Captain Duncan McMaster said his team's strength lay in belief. "We just always have that belief that our 21 players can come in every week and play their role," he said.
