Temora Dragons defeated Southcity Bulls 22-18 in a preliminary final to reach their first grand final since 2006.
Temora ended a 20-year grand final drought by defeating the Bulls 22-18 in a preliminary final at Harris Park. The Dragons were scoreless through the first 52 minutes, then scored four tries in just 17 minutes to seize control.
Captain Hamish Starr, named Group Nine's best player this season, scored twice including a spectacular high catch. The comeback win sends Temora to the premiership against Gundagai next week.
Starr has spent six seasons at the club and moved into captaincy this year. After losing twice in preliminary finals recently, reaching the grand final represents a significant breakthrough for the rural team.
