Man killed by car on Midland Highway near Ballarat
A man was struck and killed on Friday night on Midland Highway; the 54-year-old woman driver remained at the scene.
The pedestrian was walking along the Midland Highway in Magpie about 10.40pm on Friday, October 2, when a car hit him near Magpie Road. Mobile Intensive Ambulance paramedics attended but he died at the scene.
The driver, a 54-year-old woman, remained at the scene and spoke to police. The Moorabool Highway Patrol is investigating.
He is the sixth person killed on roads in the Ballarat local government area this year. Across the state, 194 people have died in road-related incidents in 2026.
Police are asking for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
