Bodhi Uwland wins maiden Suns club champion award
Homegrown 23-year-old defender takes first club champion with 57 votes.
Bodhi Uwland has won his first Gold Coast best and fairest with 57 votes, ahead of vice-captain Sam Collins (54) and defender Mac Andrew (50). The 23-year-old is the first graduate from Gold Coast Academy to win the club's highest individual honour.
Uwland completed a remarkable rise after missing his first year with a fractured back. Now in his fifth season, Uwland played all 23 matches and was named in the All-Australian squad of 44 earlier this year.
Defenders dominated the night. Collins earned his fourth podium finish and Andrew made it on the podium for the first time.
Uwland also claimed the Players' Player award and the Community Award.
