Gunmen killed at least 27 people across two shootings in South Africa; police have launched a manhunt with no arrests yet made.
Eight gunmen stormed a tavern west of Johannesburg on Saturday night, opening fire on customers outside before moving inside. Eight gunmen killed 17 people and wounded 15, then fled in two vehicles after taking cellphones from some patrons and torching two cars.
Early Sunday, a separate attack at an entertainment venue near Lwandle, outside Cape Town, left 10 dead and 11 wounded when gunmen entered and shot at patrons. Police say the attackers were reportedly armed with AK-47 rifles and pistols but have not identified any suspects.
No motive has been confirmed for either shooting.
