Two men charged over drone drug drop at Cooma prison
Two men were arrested. Police seized a drone carrying drugs and tobacco flying over Cooma Correctional Centre.
Police spotted a drone hovering above Cooma Correctional Centre on Friday afternoon. Officers tracked down two men, aged 31 and 38, at a nearby park with drone equipment and mobile phones.
The drone was recovered from a creek. A package inside held tobacco, prohibited drugs, a mobile phone and several other items.
The two men were arrested and taken to Cooma Police Station. They face charges for operating a drone in prohibited airspace.
They also face charges for trying to deliver items to inmates. They face charges for supplying cannabis.
They were refused bail and will appear in local court.
