Acosta breaks duck in MotoGP after 56-race wait
Pedro Acosta won his maiden MotoGP race at the Austrian Grand Prix, taking KTM's first victory since October 2022.
Acosta dominated the Austrian Grand Prix on his 56th start, crossing the line 1.017 seconds ahead of Jorge Martin. Acosta broke the all-time MotoGP record of 15 podiums without a Grand Prix win.
For KTM, it was the brand's first victory in 80 starts since Miguel Oliveira won in Thailand in October 2022. Acosta had crashed out of Saturday's sprint race while leading with three laps remaining, but recovered to deliver the win at KTM's home circuit.
Martin finished second and extended his championship lead over Marc Marquez to 12 points. Marquez finished fifth, over seven seconds behind.
The Spaniard will leave KTM to join Marquez at Ducati next season.
