Perth schools lock down as police hunt boy with alleged weapon
Schools in Byford locked down after police responded to reports a boy had an edged weapon around 2:25pm Monday.
Several schools in Perth's southeast were placed into lockdown after police responded to reports of a boy carrying a weapon. The alarm was raised about 2:25pm on Monday near Abernathy Rd in Byford, home to Byford Secondary College and Salvado Catholic College.
Police attended the scene and apprehended one male who is assisting with inquiries. No injuries were reported.
No edged weapon has been found. The WA Education Department was asked for comment on the incident.
