Access Canberra moves into Woden Library upstairs space
The Access Canberra service is relocating from its old site to the first floor of Woden Library, which was redesigned in 2021.
A tender has been released for design and construction work. The work will move Access Canberra's Woden shopfront into Woden Library's level 1.
The level 1 was overhauled in 2021. The 2.2 million dollar makeover created a multi-use community space with work areas, art spaces, dance and yoga studios, and recording facilities for music and podcasts.
The move comes as library hours are being cut to control costs. It follows a scathing review of library services last year.
The move creates a co-located hub in Woden Town Centre. Residents can access both services in one building.
Infrastructure Canberra says some study spaces on level 1 will likely be relocated to the ground floor.
