Neighbour wakes family from fire, saves three lives in Brooks Reach
Adrian Lamacchia woke a family and saved three lives when he spotted fire at their home.
Adrian Lamacchia spotted an orange glow at his neighbour's home in Brooks Reach and bolted outside. Adrian Lamacchia knew a woman, her two children and their dog were inside and likely asleep at 1:30am on Friday.
Adrian Lamacchia banged on the door, then jumped the fence to try to put out the blaze with a garden hose. Adrian Lamacchia heard them running down the stairs and watched them drive away to safety.
Within a minute, the whole spa bath on the back porch was engulfed. Lamacchia then woke neighbours on either side of the burning home.
A friend of the family said if it was not for Adrian the children would not have made it out. Hours later, Lamacchia's family could not sleep, just running on adrenaline.
He downplayed his bravery, saying he simply just did what just needed to be done and did not think twice.
