Man charged with strangulation in Pascoe Vale home death
A 34-year-old Pascoe Vale man was charged with non-fatal strangulation after a 63-year-old died at a Melbourne home.
Police found the 63-year-old man unconscious at a property on Heathcote St in Pascoe Vale about 7.45pm on Tuesday. The 63-year-old man was treated at the scene but could not be saved.
A 34-year-old man was arrested nearby. Police said the two men were known to each other but have not disclosed their relationship.
The 34-year-old was charged with non-fatal strangulation, recklessly causing injury, possessing methylamphetamine, and committing an indictable offence while on bail. He appeared before Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Thursday and was remanded in custody to reappear on 16 October.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
