Dane Rampe's future in doubt after Sydney Swans' preliminary final loss
After captaining Sydney to a preliminary final loss against Fremantle, veteran Dane Rampe remains uncertain about playing next season.
Dane Rampe, 36, captained Sydney against Fremantle in the preliminary final, with the Swans falling 83-71. Rampe stood in after regular captain Callum Mills was ruled out injured.
Rampe and the Swans have yet to decide whether he will play on next year. Coach Dean Cox said he had not discussed Rampe's possibilities and that the veteran had earned the right to decide for himself.
Mills faces the possibility of missing the entire 2027 season with an ACL tear. Rampe finished with 17 disposals and five intercept possessions in his 290th AFL game.
He has played in four grand final defeats since his 2013 draft.
