Warwoven claims Caulfield Guineas with Rachel King aboard
The three-year-old colt won the classic with British jockey Rachel King, who secured her 10th Group 1 victory.
Warwoven has won the Caulfield Guineas, living up to its favouritism in a classy run at Caulfield Racecourse on Saturday. Jockey Rachel King steered the three-year-old colt to victory by a length and a half, trailing Blind Raise heading into the straight before the pair broke from the pack and went head to head in the final 320 metres, when Warwoven kicked away to claim the $3 million race.
The win marked King's 10th Group 1 victory, including a recent second on the same horse. King said she was thrilled with the colt's performance.
Trainer Bjorn Baker, based in Sydney, claimed his 14th Group 1 winner of his career and fifth this year. The connections will pocket a share of $1.8 million.
Blind Raise finished second, with Call Me Coach third in a photo finish with Central Europe.
