Lindian's rare earths mine nears first production by December

Lindian Resources has stockpiled 125,000 tonnes of ore on track for first production by year end.

Lindian Resources is on the home stretch at its Kangankunde rare earths mine in Malawi, with 125,000 tonnes of ore already stockpiled well ahead of schedule. Mining at the stage one pit is now running continuously, with drill-and-blast, haulage and stockpiling working around the clock.

First monazite concentrate production remains firmly on track for the end of this year. The processing plant is in its final construction stages, with mechanical installation, electrical works and instrumentation nearing completion.

The mine is already a major employer for Malawi, with locals making up more than 85 per cent of the direct workforce and more than 3,000 people working on-site, creating jobs across the region.
