Myrtleford Savoys defeated Albury City 3-2 to win back-to-back Albury Wodonga Football Association Cups.
Myrtleford Savoys defeated Albury City 3-2 in a thrilling grand final on Saturday at Baranduda Fields. The Savoys came back after City scored first through Matt Heap in the 16th minute.
Angel Taravillo tied it nine minutes later. Taravillo then put Myrtleford ahead in the 55th minute.
City responded almost immediately through Ben Sredojevic to make it 2-2. Jack Milford scored the winning goal in the 74th minute, sparking wild celebrations.
Coach Jayden Vescio has now guided Myrtleford to his fifth Albury Wodonga Football Association Cup. Vescio previously masterminded the club's three-peat from 2016-18.
The Savoys made each of the past four grand finals but lost in 2023 and 2024. Vescio credited experienced players like Tom Morrison, Angel Taravillo and Connor Caponecchia for lifting when it mattered most.
