Blakey is contracted through 2031 and North Melbourne is reportedly set to offer an eight-year deal worth nearly $12 million.
Nick Blakey appears set to force his way out of the Sydney Swans, even though he is contracted through 2031. Blakey was one of five players the Swans suspended after they were seen drinking until early morning following a round 23 win over Essendon.
Three women have alleged incidents of sexual assault at the Pullman Hotel during the night. A Victoria Police investigation is ongoing.
The five players say they did not commit any criminal wrongdoing. Blakey has officially requested a trade to North Melbourne, the club his father John played for.
The Swans are weighing up whether to grant the request, given his heavy contract. North Melbourne is reportedly set to offer an eight-year deal worth nearly $12 million.
