A stolen green Mazda convertible was deliberately set on fire early Sunday morning beneath an underpass in Florey, Canberra.
A stolen green Mazda convertible was set on fire beneath the Ratcliffe Crescent underpass in Florey early on Sunday, September 13. Someone is believed to have deliberately driven it onto a pedestrian path before setting it on fire.
Emergency services were called around 2am after reports of fire and heavy smoke. Firefighters put out the blaze.
Intense heat completely charred the car. The number plates had already been removed.
ACT Police are investigating where the car was stolen and who drove it and set it on fire. Anyone who saw suspicious activity near the Florey shops before 2am on Sunday should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
