Netball star Sarah Klau fined for kicking security guard
The Diamonds netball player was fined $5,000 and given a suspended two-match ban for assaulting a security guard in June.
Sarah Klau kicked a security guard at The Paddington Inn in June after being denied entry because she was intoxicated. Sarah Klau pleaded guilty to common assault earlier this month.
Netball Australia and Commonwealth Games Australia did not know about the incident before Klau competed at the Games in Scotland in July. The investigation led to a $5,000 fine and a two-match suspension.
The suspension is suspended, so Klau can still play unless she breaks the Code of Conduct again within 12 months. She will compete in the Constellation Cup against New Zealand next month.
Klau apologised and said she took full responsibility for her behaviour.
