Lake Wendouree Lakers appoint Jake Lohmann as co-coach after winless year
Lake Wendouree has appointed Jake Lohmann as co-coach. They signed five players in an aggressive off-season rebuild.
The Lakers finished winless in the Ballarat Football Netball League this season. They are overhauling their list and coaching structure.
Lohmann will share coaching duties with a second coach to be named later. The club signed midfielder Sid Rajesh from Learmonth.
The club also signed former East Point backman Matt Romeril, Talbot goalkicker Zac Cicchini, Queenscliff prospect Angus Limb and Bungaree defender Darcy Croft. Club president Michael Taylor said the early signings were on purpose.
The club wanted to build depth to protect against the injury problems that hit the team this year. The club has also changed its administration and added support staff for key roles.
The club has now had two seasons with no wins. They say their midfield is set.
Recruitment will focus on adding height to the forward line.
