Truck and car collide on Blue Mountains road; both drivers refuse hospital
A truck rolled after hitting a car on Chifley Rd near Lithgow, trapping the truck driver who later declined hospitalisation.
A truck and car collided on Chifley Rd at Corney Town, just east of Lithgow, at about 9:10am Tuesday morning. The truck flipped on its side.
The truck driver, a man in his 60s, was trapped in the wreckage with a leg injury but declined hospital transport after emergency services freed him. The car driver, a man in his 50s, suffered head lacerations and also refused hospitalisation.
Chifley Rd is closed in both directions near O'Connor St. The Great Western Hwy is already partly closed between Mount Victoria and Lithgow due to Victoria Pass roadwork, which means the usual diversion route is also blocked.
