Errol Gulden puts hand up for Swans captaincy after Mills' ACL tear

Sydney Swans captain Callum Mills tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during Saturday's qualifying final win over Brisbane. Callum Mills faces the possibility of missing the entire 2027 season.
Star midfielder Errol Gulden said he would love to step up as captain if offered. Coach Dean Cox also has other experienced options including former co-captain Dane Rampe, veteran Jake Lloyd, midfielder James Rowbottom and Tom Papley.
Gulden finished that game with 34 disposals, eight clearances and one goal. He said Mills is the best human at the club and described the win over the reigning premiers as the most rewarding game of his career.
