Bali court drops trafficking charge for Subiaco man facing two years
Prosecutors dropped drug trafficking charges against Sean Millar and urged the court to convict him of personal use instead.
A 50-year-old Subiaco man appeared in a Bali court on Thursday after police raided his guest house on April 5 and found 600mg of methamphetamine, a glass pipe, and a bong. Sean Millar initially faced multiple charges including drug trafficking, which carries a potential life sentence.
Prosecutors dropped the trafficking charge and instead urged the court to convict him of personal drug use and sentence him to two years in prison. Sean Millar's defence lawyer said he was a victim of substance use and hoped Indonesia would learn from the case.
She noted he admitted using drugs but has repeatedly denied any involvement in trafficking. The court is expected to hand down a sentence next week.
