Darcy Parish, a 28-year-old midfielder, has been told by Essendon he can pursue a trade despite having three years remaining on his contract. Parish suffered injury problems across the past two seasons, playing just 15 games in 2024-25 when he returned to fitness.
Darcy Parish fell out of favour under interim coach Dean Solomon this year. Essendon offered no guaranteed selection in the best midfield next year.
Parish is now free to explore other clubs with the club's blessing. Teammate Zach Merrett has also agreed to leave for Hawthorn on a four-year deal.
