Epstein abuse survivors sue estate for at least $8.5 million
Two survivors sued Epstein's estate on behalf of more than 40 abuse victims, seeking at least $US6 million.
The lawsuit was filed in Manhattan federal court. It seeks damages for people in Epstein's collection of thousands of images and videos.
One plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, says Epstein took partially nude photographs of her at age 12. Amy says she appears in child abuse material seized from Epstein's properties.
The collection included a so-called 'modelling book' of sexualised images of children and more than ten thousand downloaded videos and images of abuse material. The suit asks the court to order the estate to pay each victim $US150,000 (about $A212,000).
It also asks the court to set up a program to tell people whose images were in the collection. Epstein was convicted in 2008 of soliciting sex from a minor.
He was charged with sex trafficking in 2019. He was never prosecuted for possessing the material itself.
