Ex-retail manager charged with abusing four young employees
Scott Ian Whittaker, 44, faces 24 charges of indecently or physically assaulting four teenage girls. They worked at retail stores in Canberra.
Scott Ian Whittaker was a former retail manager facing 24 charges for indecent or physical assault against four young female employees. ACT Policing says he worked at multiple chain stores in Belconnen Westfield from 2017 to 2020.
Whittaker was first accused of assaulting two teenage girls at his home in October 2017. Additional charges are about two more teenage girls who worked with him at a retail store in Canberra.
Whittaker allegedly indecently assaulted three of the four girls. He allegedly physically assaulted the fourth.
The ACT Magistrates Court heard the case would be complex and take many weeks if tried. Whittaker pleaded not guilty to the earlier charges.
The case stayed in the Magistrates Court and was not referred to the Supreme Court.
