Ex-cop's year of stalking Jesse Baird exposed at murder trial

Ex-cop Beau Lamarre-Condon is accused of murdering Jesse Baird and Luke Davies after alleged stalking.

Former NSW police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon faces trial for murdering Jesse Baird and his partner Luke Davies in February 2024. The court heard texts showing Lamarre-Condon sent cryptic messages after Baird ended their relationship in April 2023.

Lamarre-Condon wrote "Goodbye Jesse" while claiming they would "meet again". Over the following months, prosecutors say Lamarre-Condon watched Baird's home using his mother's car and a black hoodie.

He broke into the house and accessed the phone without permission. Friends told the jury he described these acts.

They said he mentioned watching Baird with other men. One friend said he discussed how to dispose of a body in bushland.

Lamarre-Condon allegedly broke into Baird's home in August 2023. He stood beside Baird's bed while he slept.

Baird ended all contact in November 2023 after discovering the phone access. Lamarre-Condon pleads not guilty to the murders.

Why it mattersThe trial shows how obsession and access can escalate to alleged murder. It reveals the path prosecutors say led from a rejected relationship to violent death.
