Australian tourist dies in fall from Nusa Penida cliffs
Brianna Lani Cronin, 29, from Queensland, died in a fall from Kelingking Beach cliffs on Nusa Penida.
Brianna Lani Cronin fell from cliffs above Kelingking Beach on Nusa Penida on Saturday morning. Nusa Penida is an island east of Bali.
A lifeguard had been alerted that the Queensland woman was stranded on the cliff face. The lifeguard was still getting more support ready when she fell to the shoreline below.
Search and rescue teams found her and she was declared dead at the scene. Brianna Lani Cronin had suffered arm and leg fractures and cuts.
Cronin was staying at a hostel about 45 minutes' drive from the beach. The hour-long hike to Kelingking Beach from the cliffs above is known to be risky.
It is unclear whether she was on the main path. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is helping her family.
