Two men charged after $8.5 million ice haul seized near Burnie

Police stopped two vehicles at a beachside car park near Burnie on Friday and seized 17 kilograms of methamphetamine. The street value is around $8.5 million and it is believed to be Tasmania's largest single seizure.
A New South Wales man, 40, and a Hobart man, 41, were arrested at the scene. Police say the Hobart man is a member of an outlaw motorcycle group.
About $100,000 in cash was also seized in searches. Both men have been charged with drug trafficking.
Police say inquiries continue and more arrests are expected.
