Helicopter tracks 14-year-old e-bike rider across Adelaide before arrest
A 14-year-old fled on a high-speed e-bike and was tracked by a police helicopter from Semaphore to West Beach.
Police saw an e-bike travelling at high speed on Military Rd in Semaphore Park on Friday evening at 7:30pm. When officers tried to stop the rider, he refused and rode away through back streets heading south.
PolAir, the police helicopter, picked up the chase and tracked the teenager from Semaphore all the way to West Beach, where he abandoned the bike on the sand. Ground officers moved in quickly and arrested the Marryatville boy before he could run.
He has been charged with several traffic offences. These include driving at dangerous speed and driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.
He was bailed to appear in Port Adelaide Youth Court on 12 November.
