A 544-hectare sheep farm held for seven decades sold for $2.82m after several years on the sales market.
One of Bendigo's biggest private landholdings has found a buyer after several years on the sales market. The Lowndes family's sheep farm near Lake Eppalock first came up for sale in May 2025 across 611 hectares on seven titles.
The remaining 544 hectares across five titles sold for $2,820,300, valuing the land at about $2106 per acre. Sellers had originally asked $3000 to $3300 per acre.
The undulating property has been used to graze more than 1100 sheep with some cropping across 16 paddocks and 14 dams. Agents noted the hilly terrain supports strong water catchment and offers potential subdivision sites for future development.
