NRL balks at $1m fee for Olivia Dean to perform Grand Final
The NRL refused to pay Olivia Dean's $1 million-plus asking price to perform at Sunday's Grand Final.
The NRL reportedly refused to book English pop star Olivia Dean to perform at Sunday's Grand Final. This game is between the Roosters and Knights.
The $1 million-plus fee proved too steep. Code Sports reported Dean was being discussed as a major act for the pre-game show.
The AFL had recently booked Kylie Minogue for their Grand Final. Dean is 27.
She recently broke a 73-year UK chart record. Her duet with Sam Fender, Rein Me In, spent 19 separate weeks at number one.
Amy Shark will lead Australian artists in performing as Jai Arrow does a lap before kick-off. The NRL has confirmed this.
Silverchair was also discussed as a possibility. But the band declined.
They said they were too rusty. They haven't played together since 2010.
