Peking Duk denies Sydney grand final role
Peking Duk shut down rumours they would perform at Sunday's grand final between Sydney and Newcastle.
The NRL's pre-game entertainment plans fell apart when Tones and I pulled out of negotiations after being approached less than a month before the event. NRL boss Peter V'Landys said he'd rather donate $1 million to junior rugby league than pay for "11 minutes of entertainment".
Speculation then grew that Peking Duk and other bands might step in. Peking Duk shut it down this week with a cheeky response, joking they never got the call-up and don't play Dance Monkey.
Instead, Newcastle's Jai Arrow will complete a lap of honour while a group of Aussie musicians perform You'll Never Walk Alone.
