A man found unresponsive in the water at Cabarita Beach on Saturday died at hospital.
A man believed to be in his 50s was found unresponsive in the water at Cabarita Beach near Tweed Heads on Saturday around midday. Surfers spotted him and members of the public immediately tried to revive him.
Paramedics treated the man at the beach before taking him to Tweed Valley Hospital, where he died. The man has not yet been formally identified, and an investigation into his death has been launched.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
