Mostert wins wet Bend 500 enduro as defending Supercars champion
Chaz Mostert drove through torrential rain and three safety car periods to win The Bend 500 with co-driver Fabian Coulthard.
Defending Supercars champion Chaz Mostert claimed his second win of the season at The Bend 500 on Saturday, navigating treacherous wet conditions in a 147-lap endurance race. Heavy rain forced three separate yellow-flag periods, starting on lap 25 when a driver aquaplaned off the track.
Mostert worked his way from 11th to the lead as the track dried. Kai Allen and Tim Slade finished second, while Ryan Wood and Jaxon Evans took third.
Series leader Broc Feeney endured a horror outing with co-driver Nick Percat, finishing 24th out of 26 cars.
