Son hears mother's laugh again after 23-year search
After a LinkedIn plea, 7NEWS librarian Alex Scouller found Tashi Dorjee's mother's 1990s TV interview.
Tashi Dorjee searched for the only known video of his late mother Mary Dorjee, interviewed on Sydney Weekender at their family food stall in the 1990s. Dorjee posted on LinkedIn asking if 7NEWS still had it, remembering roughly 1995 to 1997.
Librarian Alex Scouller found the long-lost footage just four days later. As a bonus, Dorjee's late father was in the video too, wearing shorts and standing beside her.
Dorjee heard his mother's laugh for the first time in 23 years, and one day her grandson will hear her voice as well.
