Electrify Australia campaign aims to save households $5000 yearly
Campaigners say switching to electric appliances and cars could save households about $5000 yearly.
More than 30 groups launched the campaign at Parliament House on Monday. They want federal incentives and clearer policy.
This would help Australians replace gas and petrol equipment with electric alternatives. Groups including Energy Consumers Australia, the Electric Vehicle Council and Farmers for Climate Action studied this.
They say households switching to all-electric homes can save around $2000 yearly. Adding an electric vehicle saves another $2000 to $3000.
The campaign links to an international Electrify Now push. It aims to raise global electrification from about 20 per cent to 35 per cent by 2035.
Australia has already installed more than 4.5 million rooftop solar systems. It has installed more than 530,000 home-battery systems since July 2025.
