Man charged with domestic violence after barricading woman in home
Christopher Laing, 35, charged with serious domestic violence offences after barricading a woman in her Wodonga home with a makeshift weapon.
Christopher Laing allegedly barricaded a woman inside her Wodonga home about 12.30am Friday, September 18. He soaked a cloth in fuel and threatened to burn it down.
Laing used a washing machine and couch to block the door. He ranted about a man in the roof space.
Laing produced a single-shot pistol made from parts including a tap. The woman reported the incident about 2pm after pretending to arrange to see her adult daughter.
Laing was arrested Sunday when he returned. Police seized the weapon.
Detectives want to question him about a separate shooting two days earlier at another Wodonga property, where a shot was fired at the front door. He faces multiple domestic violence charges including smashing doors and throwing objects at the woman.
