Woman charged with meth supply after roadside test
A 49-year-old woman was charged after testing positive for methamphetamine on a roadside stop near Scone.
A 49-year-old woman was charged with drug possession and supply after a roadside test returned positive for methamphetamine. On Monday morning, Hunter Valley Highway Patrol stopped her vehicle on the New England Highway near Scone.
Officers conducted routine drug and alcohol testing. The test was positive for methamphetamine.
Officers then searched the vehicle. They allegedly found $500 cash, a glass pipe, and 56.6 grams of a crystal-like substance.
Police believe it is methamphetamine. The woman was arrested and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station.
She was charged with possessing a prohibited drug and supplying a prohibited drug. The supply charge relates to an amount greater than indictable but less than commercial quantity.
The woman was released on conditional bail. She will appear at Scone Local Court on 14 October.
A 24-hour driving ban was imposed.
