Gryan Miers stays at Geelong despite West Coast medical
Geelong forward Gryan Miers is expected to remain at the Cats after undergoing a medical with West Coast on Friday.
West Coast explored signing Geelong forward Gryan Miers but it is now expected he will stay with the Cats in 2027. The 27-year-old underwent a medical with the Eagles on Friday, but list manager Matt Clarke confirmed on Monday that a move looks unlikely.
Clarke said Miers is a loyal player and Geelong are performing well, making it hard to convince him to leave. Geelong's Andrew Mackie agreed Miers will probably remain at the club, saying he loves the Cats and recently had a positive chat with him about his future.
West Coast may still pursue other options to strengthen their half-forward line during the trade period.
