Man grows 520 cannabis plants in family home, locks rooms
Dylan Wills pleaded guilty to running a cannabis grow-op with 520 plants hidden throughout his family home.
Police raided a Macquarie Hills house in September last year and found Dylan Wills, 30, had transformed it into a large cannabis cultivation site. Dylan Wills planted 520 cannabis plants in locked rooms, under stairs, in the garage, and beneath the house.
The crops ranged from 10 centimetres to two metres tall and were hidden behind foil tarps under lights. Police found about 1.6 kilograms of dried cannabis leaf under the stairs inside the house and about 500 grams more in a sunroom.
Wills had put locks on doors to keep his family out of the grow areas. He also had prohibited weapons including a nunchaku and slingshot.
He pleaded guilty to cultivating a large commercial quantity, supplying drugs and possessing illegal weapons.
