Body found in Manning River as Taree search ends
A body believed to be missing 71-year-old Judith Browne was found in Manning River on Tuesday.
Judith Browne, 71, was last seen on Frances St in Taree about 10:30pm on Sunday, September 20. Police began searching Monday after family raised welfare concerns.
State Emergency Service volunteers found a body in Manning River early Tuesday morning. Police believe it is the missing woman.
Formal identification is pending. Police are appealing for help retracing her movements.
They are asking the public to check CCTV, dashcam and doorbell footage. Anyone with recordings from between 10:30pm Sunday and 10:15am Tuesday in the area should contact police.
Friends remembered Browne as a warm, kind person who always made them laugh.
