Qantas passenger charged over mid-flight door incident
Thomas Raymond Forster is charged with endangering an aircraft after allegedly trying to open a door mid-flight.
The man allegedly abused a fellow passenger on a Qantas flight from Karratha to Perth on Monday, then pushed and kicked the seat in front of him. When cabin crew intervened, he abused them too.
As the aircraft was preparing to land, he allegedly ignored crew instructions to fasten his seatbelt and attempted to open a passenger door while airborne. Police escorted him from the plane when it landed at Perth Airport at about 4.05pm.
He has been charged with causing harm to a Commonwealth official, endangering the safety of an aircraft, not complying with crew instructions, and disorderly behaviour. He was granted bail and the matter was adjourned to November 27.
