Western Sydney gets a dozen new metro and rail stations on the map
Government documents show a dozen new metro and rail stations planned for Western Sydney.
Secret government documents obtained by the state opposition show plans for major metro and heavy rail expansion across Western Sydney. The north-west corridor would add stations at Emerton, Bidwell, Marsden Park and Schofields.
The south-west would extend from Bradfield to Campbelltown. Stops are planned at Maryland, Pondicherry, Oran Park, Narellan, Mount Annan and Macarthur.
The state government has set aside $40 million to study if the Western Sydney Airport Metro can extend north from St Marys to Tallawong. Federal and state governments gave another $100 million to study southern extensions.
These would link the airport to Campbelltown and Leppington. Opposition Leader Kellie Sloane says voters will get another metro if they elect a Coalition government.
