Man charged over covert filming at Perth shopping centre
A 21-year-old from Wattle Grove was charged with using a mobile phone to film a woman in a shopping centre toilet.
Police allege the man entered public toilets inside Betty's Burgers at Forrest Chase shopping centre in Perth's CBD and used a mobile phone to film a woman inside a cubicle. The incident occurred on September 20 at about 5:30pm.
The woman followed him outside into the mall and he fled. Police were contacted and identified him, taking him into custody.
Security footage showed he also attended toilets inside Myer on level two between 3:45pm and 5pm that same day. The man has been charged with one count of using an optical surveillance device to record a private activity.
He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on October 21. Detectives are appealing for other possible victims to contact police.
