Wendouree man charged over Delacombe hit-and-run
A 23-year-old Wendouree man arrested Monday for a hit-and-run that occurred in April when a cream-coloured Skoda struck a tow yard worker.
Three offenders, including two women, tried to steal a recovered Ford Ranger from a tow yard on Elizabeth Street in Delacombe on April 28. When staff members spooked them, the trio fled.
As two workers chased the women onto Stonepark Road, a cream-coloured Skoda with no number plates drove past and struck one of the men. The man was knocked to the ground but escaped serious injury.
Police recovered the Skoda in Wendouree and launched a public appeal last week. On Monday, September 14, detectives arrested a 23-year-old man at a property in Ballan and charged him with multiple offences.
