Mick Mundine arrested on historical child assault allegation
The 79-year-old chief of the Aboriginal Housing Company was arrested. He faces allegations he assaulted a 15-year-old in 1986.
Indigenous housing leader Mick Mundine was arrested in Sydney on Thursday. Detectives from the Sex Crimes Squad arrested the 79-year-old at Redfern about 7am over a past child sexual assault allegation.
Police say he is accused of assaulting a 15-year-old at the same place in 1986. A Strike Force was set up in December last year to investigate.
Mundine is the brother of late boxer Tony Mundine. He is the uncle of boxer Anthony Mundine.
