Woman who killed abusive husband cites survival mechanism in court

Nirmeen Noufl appeared in NSW Supreme Court on Monday. Her defence lawyers argued she killed her husband Mahmoud Noufl in May 2023 in excessive self-defence.

Her lawyer said she acted from a survival mechanism developed through abuse at his hands and earlier trauma. The prosecutor countered that Noufl showed no remorse until recently.
